By stretching Crespi D’ Adda horizontally and positioning resultant forms alongside the river Adda and Crespi, productive spaces retain proximity both to water power and residential spaces. As the settlement is built largely on flat ground, that helps establish long dramatic views, the open utopia was broken by topography deemed too precipitous.
